Photo Essay

As the end of the school year approaches, students have a lack of energy and inspiration to finish the remainder of the school year.

With a lack of ambition students find it hard to find happiness with the school year dragging along for the last few weeks. Even the teachers begin to show their readiness for the year to end by giving out projects or only coming a few days a week till the year ends.

By May, the smiley faces deteriorate from the building all too soon and are hardly seen when glancing. A glance around the hall won’t allow anyone to truly see the happiness around the school.

These photos were taken on days where complaints rang high in the ears of the students and the school was lacking energy. Teachers were photographed outside of the classroom setting and students were pictured doing the activities that they chose to do inside the school.

On rainy days or days where students or teachers are just watching the clock, all subjects in the pictures decided to deal with it and build on it. Rather than joining the crowd and sulking until 3:15 p.m., they decided to stand out.

In totality, these pictures were taken as students and teachers created their own fun, making the best out of a difficult situation. There was no posing or no steady preparedness for any of the pictures.

Each picture represents what makes the subject happy or how they create happiness for themselves inside of and around Kenwood Academy.
